    The City

    The city

Bologna is well-known as one of the main centres of culture in Italy. It is the home of the oldest University in Europe and today still looks very much like a University town with its traditional old bookshops, small publishers and bookbinders' workshops and its streets crowded with students. The city centre has preserved its original layout, which has remained almost intact and is particularly fascinating because of its arcades where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll sheltered from both the traffic and the rain. Bologna has always been off the main tourist routes and so the local people always offer a warm welcome to the foreign visitor. The bolognesi are proud of their cultural identity and never miss a chance to talk about the most interesting features of the day to day life of their city.

    The school

Lessons are held in the heart of historic centre of the city in an ancient Palazzo right in the middle of the University area. Classes are small – from a minimum of 3 to a maximum of 8 students. On the first day of all courses, students receive a folder with the programme of the afternoon cultural activities and excursions, a guide with addresses useful for them during their stay and a city map.

At the end of the course, each student receives on request an attendance certificate with the duration of the Italian course and the level reached.
